The West Dunbartonshire Sports Awards provides the opportunity to thank coaches, volunteers and athletes for their dedication, and also to recognise their achievements between 1 April 2011 to 31 March 2012.

Closing date for nominations is Friday 1st June 2012 and winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony at Dumbarton Golf Club on Friday 22 June 2012.

Due to the Golden Jubilee holiday weekend, the next DFDL Meeting will be on Monday 11th Juneat Dumbarton FC Stadium, Dumbarton. The Children's meeting will commence at 6.45pm and the Youth's meeting will commence at 7.30pm.

Should you be unable to attend please send your written apologies to your age group coordinator or the Minutes Secretary at Jess.McDonald@glasgow.ac.uk.

Note that proposed changes to the DFDL Constitution should be submitted to Paul Ward and Brian Martin by 31 May 2012 at the latest.

2012 DFDL AGM will take place at the same venue on Thursday 21 June starting at 7.00pm. Children's and Youth's teams should be in attendance.

Following on from the recent changes to the DFDL Constitution in June 2011, all DFDL registered team personnel must wear the DFDL Hi Viz Jacket. All individuals failing to wear the Coaches Jacket will be fined £20 as per new Constitution.

Additional Yellow Jackets have been ordered and are now available. If you need one, you can pick it up at the next DFDL Meeting. Email a.l.bateman@talktalk.net to reserve your jacket.

New sizes are now available including Medium, Large, XL, XXL & XXXL

2006s DFDL Registration 2012

The DFDL are now taking applications from the 2006s age group with the intention that a 6s league will be created and fixtures starting in late April / early May 2012.

DFDL Cup Finals 2011

This year's DFDL Cup Finals were held at Strathclyde Homes Stadium, home of Dumbarton FC. A huge thanks to Gilbert Lawrie and Jim Chapman for supporting our league by hosting the finals for the third year in a row.

Caroline will be in contact by email for those eligible to complete the registration to the PVG. This is the first of many such registration nights, please be patient and we will work our way through the waiting list as quickly as possible.

Once again can we remind you that REGISTERED club officials only will be invited to attend.

 

Coach Education courses for both children's and youths Levels 1, 2 and 3 courses to be held in Dumbarton during 2012 are shown on the attached document. Applications should be sent to Mark Spalding using the attached form.

Next course is a Youth's Level 1 on Sunday 12th August at OLSP High School.

Note that payments to Mark Spalding should be by cheque and made out to WEST DUNBARTONSHIRE LEISURE TRUST

FIRST AID COURSE - NEW DATES

The current waiting list to attend a DFDL organised First Aid course has been deleted. A new waiting list is being created so if you still want to attend a DFDL course send your details to Alastair Bateman to ensure that you are on the new list.

It's unlikely that any other First Aid courses will be organised for the time being and most likely the next session won't take place before September 2012. Note that if you do not have a valid first aid certificate the SYFA will be unlikely to accept your teams registration for playing fixtures from August 2012.

Note that the cost to each delegate will be £50 with the DFDL paying the difference.

Please email a.l.bateman@talktalk.net to add your name onto the new waiting list for the next sessions. Fees for coaches/First Aiders from Member clubs is £50 per delegate with DFDL contributing the remainder of the cost (about £15-£25). Note include the following information for all delegates in the email:

Friendly Procedure

Procedure for obtaining permission to play a friendly:
  • If it's another DFDL team - email the DFDL Match Secretary and request permission (cost - nil)
  • If it's another SYFA team - email both the DFDL Match Secretary and the SYFA Central Region Secretary and request permission. Include both teams SYFA ID number (cost - nil (SYFA Central Region have waived the £2 fee))
  • If it's against a non SYFA team - permission needs to be through the SYFA Registration website and costs £10
When seeking permission include both teams names, age group, proposed date, venue and kick off time.
